The Allen Noble Sanctuary provides an important habitat for a large number of water and bush birds. It has been extensively redesigned and replanted in recent years, and showcases numerous indigenous plants which, as well as improving the biodiversity and visual impact, provide a useful educational tool for local residents and tourists.

The Friends of Allen Noble Sanctuary work within the framework of ANGAIR, and with the support of the Surf Coast Shire, to control and, where possible, eradicate environmental weeds within the Allen Noble Sanctuary and replant in cleared areas.

Working bees are held on the fourth Sunday between March and November.
