A very warm welcome to our new Committee members – Yvonne Coventry, Doug Dalton, Jeremy Lewis, and Christine and David Williams – we look forward to your contribution to the running of ANGAIR.

Twenty-one people, members of ANGAIR and non-members, attended Clean-up Australia Day in Anglesea on Sunday, 6 March. We worked in several different areas – the dirtiest being along the Ocean Road. A full trailer load rubbish was collected along a short stretch of the road, and we are very grateful to all those who helped.

A group of committee members met with the Surf Coast Shire environmental managers to look at the Painkalac Creek, with a view to setting priorities for the work needed to return this area to its original state. It is a five-year project, funded by the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CCMA), and requires weeding and some planting. ANGAIR will be involved in both activities.

ANGAIR had a stall at the Barwon Water Sustainable Home and Garden Expo in Geelong over the long weekend. We sold plants and merchandise, and spoke to many like-minded people. Thank you to the members who assisted on each day.

Saturday, 26 March was overcast, and the wind was cool. However, that did not stop the one hundred and five people, who attended the SEANA Autumn Camp 2011 at the Anglesea YMCA Recreation Camp, from enjoying, the walks around Anglesea and Aireys Inlet, guided by ANGAIR members and other knowledgeable people. Sunday 27 was a bit calmer and milder, though still overcast, and the exploration of the heath and woodland continued. We hope all who attended enjoyed our special environment, and appreciated the diversity of species that we have here. Thank you to all those who contributed to making the weekend a success.
