Our recent survey on June 20 focused on a newly discovered population of this flora species that is classified as vulnerable at both state and national levels.
The five people who participated in the survey near Coalmine Road observed 81 specimens in excellent condition growing amongst other heathland plants.
The records will be entered in the Victorian Atlas of Biodiversity and will be analysed by Liz James from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, to identify where this population lies in relation to other known populations in the district.
The next survey will be on Tuesday, August 15 and we would welcome additional people to come and participate in this ANGAIR activity.
