Increasing membership (now over 600 ), accountability requirements, including health and safety of ANGAIR volunteers, complexity of the organisation, together with technological developments in information exchange, have prompted the Committee of Management to review ANGAIR’s office administration.

The review will make recommendations to the Committee about ensuring efficient and effective support of the future operations of ANGAIR in this changing environment. The review is being undertaken by a volunteer with extensive management experience, who is also a member of ANGAIR. The Committee will advise you of the outcomes from the project later in the year.

ANGAIR was honoured at the Department of Education’s Excellence Awards on the Friday, 18 May at the Crown Palladium in Melbourne. The Hon. Martin Dixon, Minister of Education, presented ANGAIR with the Community Service Award for the Barwon-South West region. Mrs Pamela Sandlant, School Principal, and the Anglesea School Council nominated ANGAIR, for funding and helping organize the planting of the garden at the school’s new site in Camp Rd. We are grateful to have been part of the evening, of which the main function is to acknowledge the Teachers of Victoria. Our thanks go to Pam and the Anglesea School Council for their support and for the nomination.

Corangamite Catchment Management Authority is working with the Surf Coast Shire, the Department of Sustainability and Environment, and the Department of Primary Industries to review and update the existing Anglesea River Estuary Management Plan. The Corangamite CMA is keen to collect information on community values and ideas for future management actions. Details of how you may contribute either on line or in person  are available on the CCMA website ccma.vic.gov.au.

Another activity that affects ANGAIR’s goals has been announced. The Great Ocean Road Coastal Committee has advised that the draft Coastal Management Plan has been released for comment and that they will be holding another survey and "open house sessions" during June. Details will be detailed in the local media and on www.gorcc.com.au.

A tool bag with a good selection of tools was left at the ANGAIR Office during the 2011 Wildflower Show. The bag still remains unclaimed and ANGAIR would like to return it to its owner.
