Peter Crowcroft (GORCC) will educate us about the results of the recent bioblitz in our area.
Pete Crowcroft (GORCC environmental educator) will share both his screen and the results of the successful ‘Great Southern Bioblitz' which had thousands of participants worldwide, taking over 90,000 observations of biodiversity worldwide, of around 12,500 species.
We'll pick where on Earth we want to go, the butterflies of Colombia, the birds of Ecuador, tarantulas of Zimbabwe, elephants of Botswana—all of these have been made incredibly accessible to explore through what is a wonderful record of the biodiversity of the southern hemisphere.
Pete has written up an account of the weekend which includes some interesting Surf Coast observations: https://greatsouthernbiobl.wixsite.com/website/post/great-southern-bioblitz-amazing-first-year
You will be notified of the Zoom meeting details on Thursday November 19
